From a journey that began more than a decade ago, I can finally say these twelve words:

I’m Dan, I’m an author, and you can pre-order my book today.

It has been quite a journey. I wrote the first words of what would become In The Shadow Of The Sanctum way back in 2014. Over the years — and through plenty of fits and starts — the manuscript grew, changed, and evolved. And through years of editing, revising, re-writing, and more, it became the book it is today.

And soon, you will be able to hold it in your hands. I can’t wait!

Pre-orders for In The Shadow Of The Sanctum are available in hardcover, paperback, and ebook.

Pre-ordering was set up through my publisher via BackerKit. Some friends said it was a little confusing, so I jotted down step-by-step instructions on how to do it, for those who are interested:

1. Click on THIS LINK.
2. Click the blue “Back It” button.
3. You might have to sign up for (or sign into) BackerKit at some point along this journey. Not sure where this happens, since I was already signed up, but be prepared.
4. If you only want to order one book, scroll on down to the “Any New $30/$25/$5 [Hardback/Paperback/eBook] of Your Choice” and click the “Back It” button below your choice.
5. After pressing the “Back It” button, you will be taken to a page where you can purchase “add-ons,” such as additional books, t-shirts, and other little goodies. If not interested, click on the “Next” button under “Total Pledge.”
6. If everything looks good, click “Confirm My Pledge.” (Reminder: If you order physical books, there will be an additional shipping charge, listed at the bottom of the “Our Story” page.)
7. At some point in the future, you will receive an email asking which of the books (or other items) from the category you chose you would like to receive, as well as your shipping address. This is where you can choose In The Shadow Of The Sanctum.
8. Phew! You’re done.

Pre-ordered books (and other items) will ship on June 1 (estimated), and you will receive them shortly thereafter. Perfect timing for your summer reading list!

As a reminder, you can also wait until the book officially launches (on May 15!) if you would like a simpler ordering process.
