New Partners Carrying In The Shadow Of The Sanctum
This month, In The Shadow Of The Sanctum will be available through The Garden of Readin, a small business in Flower Mound, Texas, that specializes in Blind Date with a Book. This is the third small business to carry physical copies of the book since its release in May 2026. The other two are Maryland’s Hidden Roses and Georgia’s Galactic Comics & Games.
I am incredibly excited to work with The Garden of Readin, and not only because I absolutely love that name for a book-based business. I like the idea behind Blind Date with a Book — it is a book that the buyer purchases without knowing the title or author. The business owner wraps the book, and has a few clues to help the reader know if it is something they might like. This usually includes the genre (fantasy, rom-com, mystery, etc.) and a few broad themes or tropes found in the book.
I think that this is an excellent way for small, debut authors (like me) to get our books in the hands of readers. Most folks who read fantasy know names like Brandon Sanderson, Robin Hobb, Robert Jordan, GRR Martin, and others who dominate the bookshelves. And don’t get me wrong — they are great authors, and I’ve read their books. But when readers are looking for something new, Blind Date with a Book is a great way to explore. And a great way for folks to find indie and lesser-known authors.
The Garden of Readin is the second Blind Date with a Book company I’ve partnered with. The first was in Hampstead, Maryland. That continues to be such a great experience and partnership that I looked to expand. And I hope to keep going.
The third small business is Galactic Comic & Games in my hometown of Statesboro, Georgia. This one holds a special place in my heart for obvious reasons. I grew up in Statesboro and graduated from Statesboro High School. The fact that a small business in my hometown would take a chance on me and put my book for sale means so much.
Folks can always order the book through me, and from large online retailers like Amazon and Barnes & Noble. But I have two hopes. First, that folks support small businesses like The Garden of Readin, Hidden Roses, and Galactic Comics & Games. And that if folks do go on a blind date with my book, it is a memorable and positive experience!
I’ll continue to update my Order Books page with all the places folks can find the book.
